Writing Otherwise – application form

The application process for Writing Otherwise is simple. You’ll receive an acknowledgment within a few days, and final decisions about places will be confirmed by December 2025. As a selective program, the decision to offer you a place will be based on your responses to the application questions, which reflect your goals, writing experience, and why this course is the right fit for you.

In the first instance, please fill out the application form below. I will review each submission carefully, and if I feel the course aligns with your creative journey, I will invite you to join.

This is a small, intimate mentoring program, and as your sole mentor, I will ensure that we work closely together to support your creative development.

Payment Options

Full fee: £2,950
Early bird: £2,750 (for enrolments confirmed by 15 December 2025)

To secure your place, a £1,000 deposit is required upon acceptance.
The remaining balance is due one month before the course begins (February 2026).

A limited number of extended payment plans are available by arrangement, allowing staged payments through to June 2026.

Additional mentoring available by arrangement.

Bursaries

Two bursary places are offered each year:

50% bursary: £1,475 (half the full fee)

75% bursary: the recipient contributes a quarter of the full fee (£737.50), with the remaining three-quarters covered through an in-kind exchange such as administrative or creative support during the course.

Applicants should outline financial circumstances and how they would benefit from the course. I welcome creative proposals for the in kind exchange.
